The idea for this piece comes from some truly magical wedding photographs from Dani Louise Photography, in which she uses a stunning fairy light tunnel to provide a bewitching and evocative backing for her photography session for a lucky couple. In order to create the most enchanting wedding photo set you can imagine, it really does help (although it’s not entirely necessary) to have a truly magical location. In the case of the shoot in question and many other spectacular shoots the location in question was the inimitable Jervaulx Abbey, a privately owned Cistercian abbey in North Yorkshire. I think you’ll agree that it is quite the marvel. Garden Weddings provided the furnishings including their new range of rustic tables and cross back chairs.

The only issue will be narrowing them down in order not to run out of space. Some special lighting really does help bring out the best of the erstwhile models who are a real life couple. The so called fairy light ‘tunnel of dreams’ had the maximum wow factor, while Jessica’s celestial wedding dress really did provide an evocative focus against the ancient abbey backdrop for some of the pictures.
The shoot showed how many factors go into making the perfect shoot, from the location, attire and lighting through to the lunar themed décor that ranged from paper goods and cake decorations through to a crescent moon flower arch and a table setting which derived a colour palette from the very night sky.

“I’d been dreaming about this styled shoot for what seemed like forever! My inspiration came from the iconic Shakespeare play, with romantic plots based around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. It is well known for the play’s bright, extravagant colours and ethereal, fairy-tale theme. I wanted to incorporate all of this dreamy inspo into a modern wedding for couples who might be thinking about intimate, outdoor ceremonies and alfresco dining with family and friends under the moonlight (which we made a real feature in this shoot).”
It’s not only component factors that came together to create a near perfect shoot of course, the people behind them must be mentioned. You will need the very best suppliers on board and for this shoot Vickie from Spectacular Scenes was chief stylist; Gayle from Where the Ribbon Ends managed the cakes and desserts while Charlotte and Stacey from Love Lights the Way were responsible for that magical fairy light tunnel. Bramble Sky’s Kate showcased her dazzling range of celestial metallic frames and props, while Dittany Entwined were responsible for the moon flower arch, just to mention a few of the many valued suppliers.
The night sky theme, tied in of course with the Shakespearean inspiration influenced floral arrangements, with a dreamlike, floaty arrangement spray painted in navy and silver echoing the night sky colour scheme showed that no attention to detail was forsaken. It was Dani Louise’s first photo shoot since March’s lockdown, so no wonder her creative juices were in full flow.
