Mr & Mrs Garden Weddings Get Wed!

On 25th May 2024 Mr and Mrs Garden Weddings (Bronte and Brett) finally tied the knot at their award winning wedding venue, Skipbridge Country Weddings. It was clear from the day they got engaged it would be a wedding filled with Tipis! They are Mr and Mrs Garden Weddings after all… The icing on there cake is Brett and Bronte tied the knot in a Crafted Canvas Tipi! Those of you who don’t know about Crafted Canvas, Crafted Canvas is the couples Tipi manufacturing business!

Brett and Bronte met in the Yorkshire wedding industry over 5 years ago when Brett and his best friend Andrew started performing at Skipbridge in their wedding singing due 24 Live. Although Brett was no longer part of 24 Live. Andrew, Brett’s best man and lead singer of 24 Live offered to sing Bronte down the aisle. A very sentimental moment for the couple.

The night before wedding day, Bronte and Brett held a small intimate gathering at their wedding venue, with Matt Stevens providing unplugged entertainment along with a pizza service from Silo 3, Skipbridge Country Weddings pizza silo. Luckily everyone had an early night meaning wedding day wouldn’t be disrupted with sore heads. The day started with beautiful sunshine, all guests were delivered a breakfast courtesy of Homegrown Hospitality along with a copy of the Wedding Post, a quick run down of how Mr and Mrs Garden Weddings tied the knot and a snippet of the excitement for what was to come on that glorious bank holiday in May.

Bronte and Brett chose to tie the knot under the Willow Bower, a licensed outdoor ceremony space at Skipbridge Country Weddings. All their friends and family gathered to witness the ceremony on this glorious day in May. Throughout the Ceremony multiple readings were heard. It’s safe to say by the end of the ceremony there wasn’t a dry eye to be seen!

The day ran to perfection, I guess when you call the top suppliers in the Yorkshire wedding industry your friends, it’s pretty safe to say you’re in good hands. Suzy from Mave Weddings kept the day running like clockwork. From organising all of the suppliers, ushering guests to take their seats and even helping Brett tie his tie! During the drinks reception, Brett and Bronte were entertained by one of Skipbridge’s resident musicians La Fox along with award winning wedding magician Tim Lichfield and even an Artist, Josh Griffiths Studio providing the guests with bespoke drawings.

Now, let’s talk about the Tipis. Brett and Bronte have ran Garden Weddings as a couple since the Covid 19 pandemic. After a challenging few years while the UK government placed a ban on all weddings with more than 6 people, the Garden Weddings couple dipped, dived, begged borrowed (but didn’t steal) to keep their business – Garden Weddings afloat. Continuing to provide Tipi Hire and Sailcloth Hire to the couples of Yorkshire was a must for Brett and Bronte. It was clear from when Brett and Bronte tied the knot, one of the biggest Tipi Weddings in Yorkshire was set to take place! The Tipis situated at Skipbridge Country Weddings, 2 Giants and 1 Midi Tipi were styled to perfect from Suzy and florals galore from our good friend Jo at The Rain Florest. Along with stationary provided by Gray Starling Design and cutlery, glassware and plates provided by YES Hire.

The wedding menu provided by Homegrown Hospitality was a feast to remember! A giant portion of Bruschetta to start, a nod to Bronte and Brett’s travels to Italy in covid. Followed by Brontes favourite dish of all time. Beef Wellington. Finally, if anyone had room for any more food. Luxurious Brownies! Perfect for filling up the guests ready for an evening of drinking (and dancing) the night away. After the meal Suzy and Dan from Vintage Event Bars let Brett in on a little secret. Gill (Brontes Mum) had booked a Beatles cover band for the evening entertainment! The wigs came out, the glasses on and people shouted SHE LOVES YOU YEAH YEAH YEAH from all angles of the Tipi!

As day turned into evening the Tipis completes transformed into the most amazing atmosphere for an evening wedding reception. The Giant mirror ball hanging in the Dance Tipi along with the Fairy lights glowing as dusk arrived. If you haven’t been in a Tipi at dusk, it’s highly recommended!

That was it, the bit we had all been waiting for. The evening reception had arrived! As the sun started to set and the evening guests arrived the party atmosphere was in full swing! Pints of Stella (Bretts favourite) at the ready, it was time to have one last shoot with the amazing photographer and videographer. Freya Raby and Ben from Beluga Weddings. The Garden Weddings crew arrived and then the party started! The Beatles along with La Fox kept the Dancefloor full all night long! Lionel Richie Style. Deciding against the normal cake, Brett and Bronte opted for a pork pie and cheese cake! The perfect swap for anyone with a savoury tooth. After the cake cutting led the first dance. When Bronte and Brett started dating all those years ago Brett started listening to Leon Bridges, Beyond. He just knew that (not if but when) he tied the knot with Bronte this had to be their song. Anyone that knows the lyrics, Leon sings ‘Bring me to my knees’ as this was played Brett dropped to his knees. The Stellas definitely helped with his dancing confidence….

Along came Midnight, much quicker than it should. However, that was no way going to be the end of this amazing Tipi wedding. Luckily, La Fox had different ideas…. Those of you that know Skipbridge Country Weddings will know about the Whisky Shack. Those who don’t know about the whisky shack, need to find out. The Whisky Shack is a purpose built grain silo hosting a giant fire and a little service back in the back. This is where the party carried on past 2am, the guests started to retire into the early hours of the morning and the wedding drew to a close. A day and night to remember, it may go down as the best Tipi wedding in history……
